Sustainopoly

Our game is based in Govan, an urban community located on the south-side of the river Clyde in Glasgow. Despite being the undisputed industrial powerhouse of the world's shipbuilding industry for over 100 years, in more decent decades Govan and its residents have experienced economic and physical decline.

In the EwB Design brief we have identified that access to food is a major issue for the residents of Govan. As identified by Sedia Diabassy, food availability in foodbanks is difficult to predict and Nina Naserdost explains the options available are limited for people with cultural or health needs.

We aim to develop a software solution in the form of an app, in which users of food banks can see what food is available where, and give them the ability to reserve what they need in advance. This would work towards achieving a number of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
